Black History Month

The task told us to response visually to the BLACK TRAILBLAZERS. To create an image I started doing some research in books, on websites about that theme.  The Black History Month is to remember and appreciate those black people who were suffering and fighting for their rights but also heroes making history. To find out about different black heroes I looked at the books "Events that Changed the world" and "100 Events that shook our world".  An example is Jesse Owens, an olympic champion, who made history by winning four gold medals and showing that it is the individual, not nationality creed, that defines a person. British Values - Individual Liberty

The country Britain not only stands against terrorism and discrimination but also fights against those issues to protect society. In fact of that the British Values are defined as "democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with differe...

Portrait of Celinn

My idea was to create a portrait of Celinn, who is a Graphic Design (BA) student at Ravensbourne, that is consisting of a painting and photographs. I started with interviewing her and found out that she will specialize in Editorial in the Graphic Design Pathway. My first impression of her was open-minded, friendly and kind. To create a portrait in size of a standard UK stamp I experimented how to collage the sketch I had drawn of her face. While doing that I paid attention that Celinn would be recognizable in the outcomes. Then I used different effects to combine the photograph with the painting. After printing the stamps I found out that I was not happy with my outcomes. Therefore I started thinking about a different layout because I liked my idea of combining painting and photographs. I used bigger stripes of the photographs and also thought about its transparency. The stamp should convey the feeling of movement and knowing Celinn just by looking at the ...
