Working in collectives taught me to communicate with each other during the whole process to prevent misunderstandings.
Each of us had different ideas and thoughts about how to design our zine which we could share in the group to create our final outcome without any problems.
In my collective we could share our own collages without any problems and also got some feedback and points of views about how to improve the work.
If anybody had questions we were able to ask the others so nobody would be on their own.
I also really liked that everybody had a voice and were listen to.
I found out that some of my collective workers prefer to illustrate images while other liked to create their work in editors.
Furthermore I learned that it is very important to split the task into jobs as we were told to because in this way everybody knew their role and had their responsibility. Regarding to that there were no misunderstandings during the process of developing our final zine.
In addition we decided key questions like the colour of the Risograph prints as a collective.
I have not learned one special detail from one single person but instead I learned how to implement feedback from different persons.
In my opinion it was a challenge to share my job as a designer with somebody else because in that case I could not decide what font type or layout our final zine should have but had to discuss every detail with the other designer. That lead to the fact that both designers had not the same amount of work because just one of us could actually use InDesign to place our images in the chosen spots.
Even though we did not have any problems agreeing on decisions within the other designer and the whole collective.
In addition it was just possible to do make decisions in class and not at home.
The role as a designer thought me to manage various things at the same time. Furthermore it helped me to focus on just a part and not the whole process so I would not forget about important details.
In addition I realized that I like the job as a designer for future projects because I love to arrange and order things to create harmony.

Our collective had some timing issues in the end which was the reason for a wrong order in our final print. Our zine was supposed to look like a booklet and each of us would have at least two pages to design.
The fact that we did not pay attention to our earlier crafts about how to place our collages was the reason that our final zine got printed in the wrong order so that the images would not fit together anymore.
Referring to that I would change the order of our collages.
Next time I will focus more on time management as I will look at what work we have done already and how much work we still need to do. Basing on that I am going to create a timetable and deadlines within the collective.
Another issue that I had is that my collages did not turn out the right way but are blurry instead. This is based on the fact that I learned in the photoshop workshop to change the amount of pixel from my images so the Risograph would be able to print it.
Because I was not sure about that before I also ask some other people in my group which thought the same thing. Obviously I would also change the amount of pixel to have a clearer print.
I think that I concentrated a lot on developing my collages instead of creating a lot. I experimented with different images and layouts to come up with good outcomes. Additionally I focused on the messages which I wanted to communicate through my collages and therefore they I think that I express them well and produced images of quality. However, I still designed more collages that we could choose from as a collective. In this case each of us had a vote.
Because of the InDesign workshop I am now able to create booklets using this software. It also helped me how to play with the font style to create the impressions that I want to express.
The Risograph workshop showed me how to change colours of an image into RGB Red and Black and that it is sometimes better to use less colours and simpler images to have nicer outcomes.
Because I have not used those softwares before I learned a lot about them and now I am able to design basic work using them. Referring to this fact I had some issues using the softwares before and even now I need to ask others to help me out with specific design steps.
Overall the most important fact that I have learned during this week is not to give up but if I have problems coming up with some ideas I need to to research.
Additionally I experienced that I can ask everybody in my class to help me with for example software skills of if I want to have some advice.
