Evaluation - Art Fund - Live Project

Starting the process I researched various graphic campaigns to get an idea of what I could design. The library helped me to find great advertisements and different designs. Regarding to that I realised that research should always be the first step before starting to design my own graphics because even though I did not know what to create I got inspired by other designer and were able to pitch my strongest ideas. The pitch helped me to decide what idea I want to focus on and how I could develop it. My peer members shared their thoughts and gave suggestions which helped me to get a better understanding of my outcome. I also learned that it is important to be confident in what I represent so I am able to convince my audience (in this case collectives) from my idea. Because we always practice sharing our designs and ideas in front of others I am now confident talking about my designs. It is easier for me to take critics and transfer them into my work than in the beginning of this

Process - Art Fund - Live Brief

This life project was different from the project we had worked on before. That is because the project brief is written by an existing company called Art Fund which wants us to create a campaign in their  name  that can drive sales of the student art pass amongst university students. Because of that we had to follow guidelines such as using their colour palette, font style and layout. The brief also gave us key insights in students lives as well as the key message which had to be express through our design to make the concept clear. I started with writing down the main aspects which the student art pass offers and what the company wants me to convey. Then I listed facts which needed to be considered for my campaign. My first idea was to design the student pass out of error windows which appear on the computer when an error happens. This idea was caused by the thought that students are mostly using computers and phones and are all of their free times online.

FMP Proposal

The Final Mayor project is an eight weeks long project on a topic which I have to decide. To begin the project I need to write a proposal explaining the concept and aim of the project i am planing on doing. It can be anything such as advertising or graphic campaigns. Starting with a huge brain storming that shows themes I am interested in and ideas. I Split the mind map in four different topics, diabetes, social problems during different centuries, the danger of nightlife and globalisation. To think of more details and write down more ideas about each topic I also did mind maps on each single theme. While doing those I payed attention to think of questions that interests me and on which I could focus doing the project. My peer members helped me to sort out ideas which were not that important, focus and improve those which I could develop in my further process. Starting with initial ideas I formed proper questions out of them for which I could collect research. Not

Evaluation - Information Graphics

I liked the fact that I could decide on my own what I wanted to do and how I wanted it to design even it was hard to come up with ideas in the beginning. I think it is good to learn how to make own decisions in view of how much research to include, what kind of research, techniques and so on. However, deciding all those aspects can be difficult as well because every decision that I make need to be considered and explained. In this case it was helpful to have some guidelines which gave me an idea of what to do rather than telling me in detail what to develop. When I looked for the poster advertising the charity event I wanted them to be readable and clear. Therefore I used a bold font, wider spacing and leading between the words and capital letters. The colour black as background should give the impression of darkness and refer to the fact that the event is taking place in the darkness. Looking to my chart designs I learned that ideas have to develop throughout the pr

Process - Information Graphics

In the beginning it was difficult to come up with ideas because the brief did not give a specific theme. After reading though it I started collecting various ideas such as themes I could base my topic on, design ideas and different types of research like books, interviews and websites. Then I choose the theme which I wanted to base my project on namely "COFFEE OR TEA". Everybody has an opinion about rather drinking tea or coffee. It has been a topic for centuries now which made me choose it. Furthermore I did not want to list serious data about affections or similar topics because those are already designed. My theme should have a fun part. However, I did not only want to find out about peoples tastes but also use this question to encourage people to donate money for charity. How does it work? My idea is to create a charity event which will collect money by selling coffees and teas. The drinks will be counted and in the end the data will be collected
